Fall Detection
Fall detection automatically senses when you fall and provides fast contact, even if you can’t press your button.*
How Fall Detection Works
Falls are the leading cause of injury among older adults, and many happen when no one else is around. Medical Alert’s automatic fall detection is designed for those moments — when a fall happens and pressing a button is not possible. Whether you are at home or on the go, fall detection provides an added layer of protection by automatically alerting a trained response specialist the moment a fall is sensed, so help is on the way even when you cannot ask for it yourself.
If you are unable to press your button and our sensor technology detects a fall, our trained response specialists will contact you immediately through the system’s two-way speaker. Even if you cannot speak, our trained specialists will contact you to assess the situation and send the appropriate help.
Our fall detection technology can automatically sense a fall.
Response specialists contact you through a two-way speaker to assess your needs.
If necessary, we dispatch emergency help to your location.
If we can’t make verbal contact with you, we dispatch help anyway.
Advanced Fall Detection Technology
Accelerometers
Sensors used in our optional fall detection can measure any high acceleration force from a fall. These sensors will alert our team in the event of a fall, and one of our trained response specialists will contact you to assess your situation and send the appropriate assistance.
Barometric Sensors
Barometric sensors detect any type of change in pressure. For example, if you move from a standing position to a horizontal position, the sensors will alert our team, and one of our Response Specialists will contact you to ensure your safety.
Advanced Algorithm
Our automatic alert technology and algorithm enable us to know the difference between a fall and a false alarm.

Automatic fall detection is an optional add-on for your Medical Alert system that senses when a fall occurs and automatically contacts a trained response specialist — even if you are unable to press your help button.
The fall detection button uses a combination of accelerometers and barometric sensors to detect sudden changes in motion and pressure consistent with a fall. An advanced algorithm helps distinguish between a real fall and everyday movements to reduce false alarms.
A trained response specialist will contact you immediately through the system’s two-way speaker to assess your situation. If you need help, they will dispatch the appropriate assistance to your location. If they cannot make verbal contact with you, they will send help anyway.
